Happy Monday and welcome to another Monday challenge!
Challenge #193
Winter Fun
Create a winter inspired project
For my project, I made a scrapbook page of my son's first school performance. It was a winter music performance with lots of Christmas carols, put on by the Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd grade. I love, love, love this page and how it turned out, even though the picture from my iPhone is not real great.
To make this page, I cut the music notes and staff, as well as the title using the Groovy Times and Type Candy cartridges. Next I found all the pattern papers I wanted to used, and inked all the edges using Memento Tuxedo Black ink. Then it was as easy as putting it all together. One of my new favorite things to use is the Lines2Journal stamp set from the Stamps of Life. It makes handwriting journaling so much easier and it looks a lot better.

It's time for another challenge over at the Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog. This week the challenge is "Heat Wave," make a project, using at least one Cricut cut, and something that shows summer heat, such as sunglasses, flip flops, a cool treat, etc... Don't forget to run over and link up your project for the chance to win a great prize from one of our wonderful sponsors. This week, I used the Simply Charmed, Groovy Times, and Best of 2012 (or Forever Young) cartridges to make this "Very Cool" card. I thought it would be cute to put some sunglasses on my little popsicle. Then I stamped the sentiment on the piece I cut using the Groovy Times cartridge. I used a navy gelly roll pen to add some faux stitching, then added some black rhinestones on the corners to balance the card.
